I’ve tried to keep this BLOG non-partisan and non-political…it has been hard in this world that we live in. It is not only the United States that is having issues with populism; there are a number of countries that have similar issues. I’m so afraid for Brazil…a relatively new democracy….I lived there at the end of their ‘dictatorship’ and the man that is the new president makes Donald Trump look liberal. Somewhere along the line, common sense was lost by a number of ‘men’, specifically ‘white’ men, and it was decided by these ‘white’ men that ‘we are going to take back what is ours no matter how we have to do it’.
Everyone thinks that Brett Kavanaugh was behaving poorly in his Senate confirmation hearings after the accusation by Dr. Ford. He was behaving the way he was told he would be most effective…and the older ‘white’ Senators were doing the same….show that anger, show that frustration...because in today’s ‘world’…it works. Look at Trump.
Donald Trump made a statement that he could walk down/through Times Square and shoot someone and get away with it; that is the truth. The ‘despicable’ (and I do believe Hillary Clinton meant exactly what she said) would see to it that some excuse was made to justify his behavior. While those of us with decency are questioning every action; there are the others that applaud his arrogance.
I have to admit that not all Republicans approve of the tone of this President or the tone of the ‘older’ members of the United States Senate….did you actually hear/see Lindsay Graham? He must have been ‘coached’ to show that anger! Some Republicans have very conservative views but don’t tolerate what is going on in Washington or how things are being handled. Trump has already threatened the Senator from Alaska for not towing the ‘party’ line.
So, it was inevitable that Brett Kavanaugh would be appointed to the Supreme Court but very sad….there are many decent men/women out there as conservative as he with the same judicial leanings as he that would have been a better match for the Supreme Court of the United States. Those that laud his confirmation have no earthly idea how his behavior will affect the country in the future.
I could not even begin to analyze the personality of the man sitting in the White House nor would I ever try. I do know how to behave or how I want a candidate to behave on a Job Interview and this guy that was just appointed to the Supreme Court did not meet my standards.
Tears, sniffles, cheek blowing, talking about how much one ‘likes’ a particular alcoholic beverage, extolling the names of individuals that are a part of one’s past, carrying old calendars around for entertainment purposes/games, etc. are not something I’ve ever experienced in a Job Interview. Job Interviews are to extol one’s ‘virtues’ or positive attributes…to explain how one’s past is going to help one effect change in ‘new’ or ‘different’ organization; not to cry or shed tears as a baby because someone stated that you had done something ‘wrong’. One would just state the case for choosing them regardless of what anyone has said about them or accusations made about their character. Let’s face it; there are very few people/individuals out there that would not have someone make negative comments about them…if given the opportunity.
The way to respond in a Job Interview is with confidence, assurance, positive demeanor and class...something that I’ve found very few ‘bullies’ have. I’ve found that ‘bullies’ can be chameleons at times, actually trying to fit into a situation as if they owned the situation.
Speaking of class, I received a response regarding the BLOG (The ‘C’ Word) I wrote about the abuse I received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania attorney…it was from one of the co-workers in the ‘shared’ office…implying that I was ‘classless’ because I wrote about their lack of support for me in the BLOG. No implication needed….I have more class than most people but a great deal less than some….however, writing the BLOG about an abusive workplace situation where individuals either laughed at the abuser or kept their head down is, to me, my right….laughing, ignoring or enabling the abuser is, to me, classless, among many other negative attributes. One doesn’t encourage an abuser in any way, shape or form.
So, the Ultimate Job Interview was available to view by the world…it is even on YouTube now. However, we all know the rights and wrongs of interviewing so please make a note of the following steps to take when you really want to ‘grab’ that position:
Please take the time to review and study the link…if you want to have even a remote chance of succeeding at a job interview, you will have to follow some of the ‘rules’ in the link. It is very rare that politics will ever enter into the situation. And, if you want to know how not to behave in an interview, then watch Brett Kavanagh on national television on YouTube.
If you would like some coaching for an interview, please feel free to contact Rosanne at 484-718-3427/484-947-7063 or at Rosanne@scbhrserv.com. Good Luck in this job market; it is truly a ‘buyer’s market’….
