I certainly have quite a bit to write about and I am sure that any and all of my former colleagues have missed seeing ‘me’ in writing.
It has been a very challenging five (5) month period….family and personal health issues, travel issues, work issues and saying ‘good bye’ to organizational incompetence have all been a part of my last few months. I apologize to my followers for not keeping up with this BLOG….it had been a good while since I was able to regularly sleep in my own bed and even longer since I was able to hook up to an internet connection with printing capabilities without going to a public library or another ‘external’ venue.
I did get to take another trip to Seattle….my second since October….this time I flew both ways – missing the views of the cross country trip that I took with my daughter last fall….this time I went out for Easter and to help my daughter settle into her ‘new’ apartment as well as to spend some time getting to know that glorious city….driving along an expressway with the Olympic Mountains on one side and the Cascades on another is breathtaking….it almost looks like a movie set….a wonderful visit and glad to hear and see that my daughter loves working as an Attorney in the US Navy.
I do apologize to my serious followers (of course, the ‘hypocrites’ can be serious) for my absence…it began in February with my 90+ mother and her hospitalization and it continued through many trips back/forth to support/encourage my mother along with dealing with constant health (albeit minor in the scheme of things) issues of my own…. However, upon returning, the same thing happened to my ear drum as occurred during the October flight back to Pittsburgh and I am just beginning to feel well again after another two (2) months of antibiotics and treatment .
I’ve spent a good deal of time ruminating about this moment…What will I write about? Which topic will I choose? One of my thoughts has been to write and produce fewer pieces or, even, none at all. I’ve forsaken the idea of abandoning this BLOG forever for I feel in the Human Resources’ venue, I have much to offer…..experiences growing up helped imbed a tenacity in me that makes me aware of the egregious behavior of some business owners and their ever so corrupt employees, NFP board members and employees who believe that running a NFP is a ‘game’ and the ‘power’ is in their ‘hands’, basic subversive practices of consultants, financial advisors, attorneys who will do anything to ‘protect’ their client….so, I’ve decided that I will continue doing what I have been doing but I will do it regularly….each week….three (Yes, that is ‘3’) times per week and I will insure that through this BLOG, the information will get out about those of the world who continually ‘take’ from the system .....they will be exposed in some small way…..and I will attempt to do my ‘small’ part in insuring that those reading this BLOG will be cautious before becoming embroiled in the makeshift ‘holocaust’ that these fraudulent individuals can do in the course of running a business or an organization….
No, I can’t stop these individuals because I have learned that once someone gets a taste of ‘corruption’ or 'power' they can’t seem to break the pattern so what needs to happen is to ‘educate’ those working with them and to advise those workers how to ‘protect themselves’…..
